Privacy Notice

Who this notice is for

This privacy notice applies to notedriftpro.life (“this site”), a personal blog written and operated by Elise from Singapore. It explains how I collect, use, and protect personal data when you visit, when you send email, and when you interact with features such as the embedded map on the reach page. I prepared this notice in good faith to meet the spirit of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”) of Singapore. I am not a company; I am an individual publisher. That distinction matters for scale but not for respect — your data still deserves clarity and care.

Personal data I may collect

When you browse this site, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps. I use this data only for security, basic troubleshooting, and understanding aggregate traffic — not for profiling you as an individual. When you email [email protected], I receive whatever you choose to send: your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. When you use the contact form on the reach page, similar fields apply. I do not operate accounts, newsletters, or comment systems that would store a profile of you over time. I do not knowingly collect data from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent personal data, contact me and I will delete it promptly.

Purposes of collection and use

I collect and use personal data only for purposes a reader would reasonably expect from a personal blog: responding to mail, maintaining site security, complying with lawful requests, and keeping records of correspondence I may need to refer back to. I do not sell personal data. I do not buy lists. I do not use your email to send marketing unless you explicitly ask to receive something recurring — and presently I send nothing recurring. Server logs help me notice unusual traffic or broken pages. Email helps me answer human questions. That is the full commercial picture, which is to say there is no commerce here.

Legal basis and consent

Under the PDPA, organisations need a basis to collect, use, and disclose personal data. As an individual operator, I apply the same principles: I collect only what I need, I tell you what I collect, and I ask consent where consent is the appropriate basis — for example, when you voluntarily submit a form or email. By sending me a message, you consent to my reading and storing that message for reply and record-keeping. By continuing to browse after reading this notice, you acknowledge the limited technical collection described here. You may withdraw consent for future contact by asking me to delete your correspondence, subject to exceptions noted below.

Disclosure to third parties

I do not share personal data with advertisers because there are no advertisers. I may rely on infrastructure providers — hosting, email routing — that process data on my behalf to deliver the site and receive mail. Those providers act as intermediaries necessary for operation. I may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of myself or others. I do not disclose reader mail to third parties for their marketing. If I ever link to an external site, that site’s privacy practices are its own; read them before you submit anything there.

Retention

Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to reply and to maintain a reasonable record of conversations about the site or privacy requests. Server logs rotate on a schedule determined by the host and are not preserved indefinitely by me personally. If you ask me to delete your messages, I will do so unless I must retain them for legal reasons or ongoing dispute resolution. Deletion requests should come from the same address that sent the original mail so I can verify ownership without collecting extra identity documents.

Security

No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure. I use reputable hosting and email services, keep software updated where I control it, and restrict access to my inbox and server credentials. You should avoid sending highly sensitive data — medical records, financial account numbers, government ID numbers — through a personal blog contact channel. If you must send something sensitive, say so explicitly and I will tell you whether a safer channel exists. Reasonable care is what I promise; absolute immunity from breach is not something any honest operator can promise.

Your rights under the PDPA

You may request access to personal data I hold about you, request correction if it is inaccurate, and withdraw consent to future use where consent is the basis. You may also ask about how your data has been used. Submit requests to [email protected] with the subject line “PDPA request” and allow reasonable time for response. I may need to verify that the request comes from you. If you are unsatisfied with my response, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore for guidance. I will not retaliate against anyone who exercises privacy rights in good faith.

International readers

This site is written from Singapore and data is processed in Singapore or in jurisdictions where my hosting and mail providers operate. If you access the site from outside Singapore, your data may cross borders as part of normal internet routing. I do not target foreign jurisdictions with separate legal regimes, but I still apply the practices described here uniformly. If local law gives you additional rights, you may invoke them by writing to me; I will consider them in context without pretending to be a multinational compliance department.

Updates to this notice

I may update this privacy notice when the site changes — for example, if I add a new form or remove the map embed. The updated version will appear on this page with a revised date in the site footer or build metadata. Material changes will not be hidden. Continued use after an update constitutes acknowledgement of the revised notice unless a change requires fresh consent under law, in which case I will ask explicitly.

I will respond as promptly as practical for a single operator. Please do not send physical mail containing sensitive identity documents unless we have agreed that post is necessary. Accuracy of personal data

Please provide accurate contact information when you write to me so I can reply to the correct address. If you believe I hold inaccurate data about you — for example, a misspelled name in a saved email — tell me and I will correct it unless there is a reason to retain the original record. I do not maintain a marketing database of readers; the main personal data I hold is correspondence you initiate and server logs my host maintains.

Do Not Call Registry and marketing

I do not use personal data collected through this site for telemarketing or unsolicited direct marketing. If you receive mail claiming to be from notedriftpro.life that asks for payment or passwords, treat it as fraudulent and tell me. I will never ask for your banking details through the blog contact form. Any legitimate reply from me will reference something you wrote first. I also do not add readers to mailing lists without explicit opt-in. There is no newsletter signup on this site at present.
