Cookie Policy
What this page covers
This cookie policy explains how notedriftpro.life (“this site”) uses cookies and similar technologies. It accompanies the privacy notice and applies to all visitors. I keep it plain because obscurity helps no one. This is a personal blog operated by Elise from Bedok North, Singapore — not an ad network, not a tracker farm. Cookies here are few, mostly technical, and partly inherited from embedded content you choose to load by visiting pages that include it.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They can remember preferences, keep sessions secure, or help a site owner understand traffic. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels; this policy treats them under the same heading when they perform comparable functions. Cookies can be “session” cookies that expire when you close the browser, or “persistent” cookies that remain until they expire or you delete them.
Cookies I set directly
This site does not use advertising cookies and does not run social media login buttons that track you across the web. If the hosting stack sets strictly necessary cookies — for example, to balance load or maintain a secure connection — those are required for delivery and cannot be switched off while still viewing the site normally. I do not use analytics cookies of my own at this time. If that changes, this page will say so explicitly and describe what was added and why.
Google Maps embed
The reach page may embed a Google Maps iframe showing the general area around Bedok North Avenue 1 so readers can orient themselves without me posting turn-by-turn directions. When you load that embed, Google may set cookies or similar identifiers on your device under Google’s own policies. I do not control Google’s cookies. Google may use them for purposes described in Google’s privacy documentation — which can include remembering map preferences or measuring usage of Google services. If you prefer not to load Google cookies, do not interact with the map embed, or block third-party cookies in your browser settings before visiting the reach page. You can also view the area using your own maps application without using the embed at all.
Third-party content generally
Apart from Google Maps, this site minimises third-party scripts. Images are loaded from configured remote sources; those requests may carry technical headers but are not used by me to identify individuals. If a future note links outward to video or audio hosted elsewhere, that host’s cookies apply only if you follow the link or play the embedded media. I choose embeds sparingly because every embed is a small delegation of trust.
How to manage cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through settings. Blocking all cookies may break some site functions — including map embeds — but the text notes will still read normally. You can also use private browsing modes to limit persistence between sessions. For Google-specific controls, visit Google’s account and privacy settings pages. If you disable third-party cookies globally, the Maps iframe on the reach page may show a placeholder or fail silently; that is expected and does not affect email contact.
Changes and contact
If I add features that require new cookies — unlikely on a site this size, but possible — I will update this policy before or at the time of deployment. Questions about cookies or this policy may be sent to [email protected] with “Cookie question” in the subject line. I will answer in plain language. For broader data questions, see the privacy notice; for mail about notes themselves, use the reach page without legal headings unless necessary. If Google changes how Maps embeds behave, I will review this section when I notice the change or when a reader points it out. Your browser remains your first line of control.
